He is Mighty to save
Everyone needs compassion
And love that never fails
Let mercy fall on me
When everyone needs forgiveness
Kindness of the Saviour
The Hope of the nation
Saviour, He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Forever author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
So take me as you find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything that i believe in
Now i surrender
Shine a light in and
let the whole world see
Singing, for the glory of the risen king
Jesus, Shine a light and
let the whole world see
Singing for the glory of the risen king

In your eyes, people see life... You see yourself
as just an average person! You enjoy life, love
wildlife, but also enjoy time with those who
know you best. You like to get outdoors and let
your mind wander over all of the mysteries god
gave to you. You don't really have a certain
sanctuary because you're so well-rounded, but
you like having fun and adventures, but can
also be found sitting quietly about, reading a
book. You have a pretty good life ahead of you,
never trade it for anything else :)

Thailand Mission Trip Dec 2004
First of all I would continue on my mission trip experience if u peeps out there dun mind reading heehee. Hmm...where shall I begin from...? I think it will be a long blog! u have to click on the link to see the pics cos i dunno why my blog can't view...Hmmm...
Day 1 Sunday Early Morning:
Woke up at 5.30am in the morning to get to change airport. I was very thankful for Aunty Christina (Rachel and Jo's parent) to let me stay over their place on sat, cos their house is like 15 mins away from airport only. If I were to travel from my house, I had to wake up probably at 4am. At the airport, check in was smooth and all of us were super excited abt the trip. Oh for the trip, part of my job is to be the photographer (heehee aka candid shot man!) All of us were so touched tat some of all youth members came to send us off and most of them are stayin in the west side of singapura and mostly were guys! (Keep it up mann) b4 we leave Pastor Jon pray for us near the check point and mann all eyes were staring at us cos we are the biggest grp there, 14 of us + parents + youths, est. abt 40 of us there!

As we arrive at Bangkok international airport for transit to Chang Rai, some of us decided to sit and rest b4 leaving. Guess wat, our transit is 4 hours haha tats very long! So Marcus, Lemuel and I started to crack jokes to entertain the rest and mann I can tell u we became the jokers for the entire trip...
We reached Chang Rai at abt 3pm,Pst Kitichai welcomed us at the airport, b4 heading to his village he brought us for lunch and after tat we went to "Big C" (Thailand's Carefore but 2 times bigger) to do some shopping for our supplies of the trip. The temperature at the city area was abt 23 degrees and it was kinda like air con! SHIOK sia!
It was a long and tiring day for us but b4 goin the sleep, we have to pick our team leader for each day ,he or she will lead the team and tell us the program for the day and pick a devotion leader each morning. Normally the older ones would be team leader and the younger ones they learn to lead devotions. For day 2 team leader, was Leanne. But the one who over see us is Our wonderful "MICHELLE" and we had Auntie Ju to join us in this trip as a "chaperon" (I dunno issit spelt like tat) kinda of spiritual and physical nanny heehee
Day 2 Monday:
http://image34.webshots.com/34/0/46/71/243404671MQfiuD_ph.jpg
When we woke up on the 2nd day we told each other 1st nite was torturing for us mann cos it was our very 1st experience in the village tat the temperature dropped till abt 10 degrees (MANN it was FREEZING!!!) so after morning devotion and breakfast. We began our mission,1st we visited a school in Chang Rai town to spread the gospel in forms of story telling, then Ivan and I lead the school children with action songs, we played games with them and Lemuel shared his testimony. All of us were a bit tense cos it was the 1st time for some of us. The funny part for the day was after we finished our program, we hanged around the school for refreshments and to my surprise, the school children came towards all of us asking for autographs heehee so funny! It was like never ending of autograph session (So now I know how it feels to be like a Singapore Idol) heehee but it was not tat fun been an idol...it was so tiring to sign for everyone hahaha! I SERIOUS! I would never wanna go and join some competition be a Singapore idol even if I'm good in singing or wat...oops I think I must come back down to earth. Well that was our 1st day of mission, we didn't do much cos it was kinda like a warm up session for us. After tat we head back to Pastor's village to pack our bags and head for an orphanage "HUI (2) PENG (2)" in another village.
http://image30.webshots.com/30/0/55/5/243405505GdiYJh_ph.jpg
When we reach Hui Peng, "Mu(4) Shi(1) Niang(2)" welcome us and brought us to the rooms she prepared for us, (u know wat?) Thanks GOD for the water heaters heehee, weather was so cold here and if we dun have tat I think all of us wouldn't be bathing hahaha! It was Winter season here at HUI PENG the only thing was they dun have snow in Thailand but when we talk we can see vapor coming out, so "Shua Ku" (Mountain Turtle) everyone tried to play with the vapor coming from our mouth.
Mu Shi Niang treated us to a bbq steamboat dinner which was out of this world mann...! so nice were the food, babelious!!!! Everything went smoothly for Leanne and team for the day. Nite falls and the tribe counsel came for the meeting to vote who would be the team leader for day 3, b4 anyone voted hahaha I volunteered to lead the team at HUI PENG the next day. We traveled on pick up trucks for the entire trip and it was a bumpy experience everywhere we go!
Day 3 Tuesday:
Program of the day was to
- Visit 2 villages and pray for them
- Visit a church R&R
- Prepare for nite evangelistic meeting at Hui Peng
- Nite Event!!!
We were brought to 2 villages to visit and get ourselves expose to the living condition of the pple there. I tell u, the 1st one was an eye opener for us, the houses were built from straws and bamboo it literally brought us to the time when Jesus walked on earth. Children running around, some without shirt and even shorts… and the daily income per household is like $5, mann Singaporeans are so bless and some still complaint, they should see wat's happening in other countries. As the team leader, I was told by Michelle to pray for the 1st family we visited in Chinese, so I did. Later did I know I kanna "Dua", cos Michelle tot the one who bring us around will help us translate from Chinese to Lahu
for the prayers didn't translate for us. So the whole team took turns to pray in English and only me the special one pray in Chinese... ARghhhh...! But hey hey I'm proud tat I can pray in Chinese cos the whole team was stunt when I started praying in Chinese and using some "chim" terms hahaha!
http://image28.webshots.com/29/0/58/27/243405827CpuPGo_ph.jpg
Lunch time was the best, Pastor Kitichai brought us to a home made noodle stall for lunch and this stall is the famous of all and 14 of us took the noodles into war and the aftermath of our on slaughter was 40 bowls of noodles! Hahaha this was how good it is!
http://image30.webshots.com/31/0/63/5/243406305VAelhi_ph.jpg
We had the event goin on and we preformed a skit, Joy shared her testimony and Michelle preached both in Chinese tat nite cos the pple in Hui Peng understands Chinese where as the other villages we visited and goin to, understands only "LaHu" an ethnic language. After everything, we took out the clothes and toys we brought over to give away.

Yup a day of team leading was over and I have to pass it to someone else. Oh on that day the temperature dropped AGAIN!!! 6 DEGREES!!!! FREEZINGGGG.......
Day 4 Wednesday:
Ivan, the team leader and us set off to the next village at Payaka. It was one of the most feared villages...WHY? Hahaha cos all of us had to hike up a mountain to get there and when I say mountain it really means MOUNTAIN not HILL! Took us about 3 hours to do tat...Auntie JU 50years old put some of the young ones to shame by been the 1st few to reach the top. Shame Shame to u young pple!

http://image34.webshots.com/34/0/71/48/243407148PPLYBD_ph.jpg
It was a very nice village seated on top of a mountain, it was one of the best...cos besides the preached and all, we played with the puppies (so cute!) and I was the marble king there, with only one marble in hand, I won many of the youths marbles haha. Best part was at nite after the evangelistic meeting, all of us went out of the church to gaze at the stars. It was so so so beautiful mann! The entire sky was filled with stars all over, then suddenly a shooting star flew pass and we all saw it and as usual someone said "hey lets make a wish!". I told Justus "How I wish we can see another one!" and straight away the next one appeared hahaha so magical rite! Too bad I wasn't dating anyone and telling tat to her...hahaha how I wish this would happen next time I'm on a date or wat! Heehee Haiz dun say le,i'm still single and not one wants...

Day 5 Thursday:
Sumerkat was the last village we head to, had alfresco dining at the village cos the houses where too cramp to take in all of us for dinner.
http://image30.webshots.com/31/1/56/3/243415603noWkBr_ph.jpg
I was given the task to preach that nite...
Actually b4 coming for mission trip, Leanne, Ivan, Vincent and me were told to prepare a msg to preach and only 2 of us would be preaching but I couldn't get anything out till the 3rd day at Hui Peng then God spoke to me to preach on John 15:12-13
"Love one another...
Greater love is for one to lay his life for a friend..."
I thank God for speaking to me during the trip, at the nite I was preaching God cleared my doubts and lifted up my faith in him with 4 salvations. A little bit of background, normally in a village it's abt 180 pple that big and to have 4 salvations is kind of a faith increasing event for the pastor with a 40 members strong in Sumerkat and for myself actually. But I tell u it was really a challenge for me to speak in a foreign land. After the alter call, I continued to pray for the village in closing for blessings in their farming and health to the children. And on the last nite of the trip Michelle told us that e nite b4 we went to Sumerkat there was a mad man running around the village tell that Christians in the village will bring famine to farms and sickness to children and on the day we arrive the mad man fell sick so thank God tat the mad man didn't come to create trouble when we minister to the pple and my prayer is somehow a reverse of wat he told the pple the nite b4...wah...so happening!
Oh this was the village where u will see vapor coming out even when u so to the toilet and urine...this was how COLD the WEATHER was at Sumerkat.

Day 6 Friday:
Towards the end of our mission trip, we left the village at abt 8am to head to Chang Rai town where we will spend a nite at a hotel b4 catching the plane home on day 7. it was a long and bumpy ride (abt 5hrs ride!) haha this time round I was given the seat inside the truck where u dun have to eat dust heehee...poor Joy, fell asleep next to me and Leanne so I took a candid shot of her sleeping and drew a smile face on her hand hahaha!
http://image28.webshots.com/28/1/67/20/243416720bDINoM_ph.jpg
Yes Finally we reached the hotel call "little duck hotel" well b4 reaching, Michelle told me the name of the hotel and I heard wrongly miss took it as "little dark hotel" "Xiao Hei Tian" hahaha so duhhhh... during the hike Auntie Ju lost my jungle hat tat I lent her so in return she treated me to a oil massage, wah it was fantastic mann it was so comfortable tat I fell asleep hahaha! And at nite we went to the nite bazaar to shop well I didn't do much shopping but followed the younger ones around instead.
Back at the hotel room heehee all the guys took out our facial mask we bought at the bazaar to do it hahaha so vain or wat and guess who was the "ghost head" "gui tao"
ME heehee...

Day 7 Saturday:
It was home sweet home for us but I really will miss Thailand...and during the trip there all of us never missed Singapore food hahaha and in fact the best restaurant food in SG will still lose out to the road side stall in Thailand and the unpolished rice we ate at the village so "BABELIOUS!!!" I MISS U THAILAND!!! Numbers of pics took was 390 hahaha so much.
